Real Life Weddings: Kaye And Arty

Imagine this: you've planned the your dream wedding. Everything's going to plan, the venue is perfect, your dress is stunning, and you're simply overcome with love for your soon-to-be-husband. You wake up on the day of your wedding and BAM, ruined. The unpredictable British weather has claimed another would-be perfect day be blessing it with a showering of rain or unexpected snow making travel hard, making the day seem glum and making outdoor weddings and receptions impossible.

I KNEW I COULDN'T COPE WITH WEATHER RUINING MY BIG DAY

says bride, Kaye from Leeds. "I knew that for my day to be perfect, I needed sun and bliss and you just can't get that in

Britain. So, I talked to Arty about is and it wasn't long before we were jetting off Valencia in Spain. There were downsides, of course. Not all of my family could make it out to Valencia and therefore I couldn't have all the guests that I wanted. My daughter, Courteney, was sadly unable to come abroad as she needed to stay at home for exam season. This was sad, of course, it broke my heart not to have her there but, at the same time, I knew that she'd want me to live my dream and get married. I walked down the isle in golden bliss, warmed by the heat of the sun. The sky was the sort of blue that you only usually see in magazines and you could hear the waves in the background. I truly can't imagine my big day happening in another other way. I wouldn't want it to. I considered having

another ceremony at home to sort of say: 'Oh, if you couldn't make the other one then at least you'll get to see this one.' but then it came to planning and all I could think was that I didn't want to do it again. I didn't want it any other way because ...

YOU JUST

CAN'T BEAT

PERFECTION.

I loved my big day. I loved how special it was. I loved how I felt. I loved the man who I was with for allowing me to live this dream. No other man would support me the way that he did. No other man, no other place, no other wedding could have made me this happy."

And here at Matrimony Mag, we're happy for you, Kaye! If you have any comments about Kaye's story, leave them below. Have you or a loved one had a wedding abroad? Would you? Where would you go? As always, we look forward to hearing from you all.
